9:42 pm - Drawing and watching NCIS
I've been doing a 13 panel project loosely based on little red riding hood and, in the process, learned some great methods for digital ink/color. I have a few of the panels on my deviant art page but I'm not going to post the full series because it was featured on this website and could eventually be marketable. Plus I'm recoloring/touching up some of the earlier panels since I wasn't as good at the digital coloring thing when I started.

So M setup a webpage for me to post my drawing work. Not sure what it's going to end up as but for now she posted a couple pictures I did recently. She even setup an RSS feed which is funny if not incredibly narcissistic but it will come in handy if we start a weekly/daily web comic type post thing.

I worked 6 days this week and managed to get flats done on 4 revised panels. I'm so freaken tired.

Oh, and I just watched the season finale to season 2, NCIS ("Twilight"). Oh-my-FREAKEN-god. If you have not seen this show yet, do not look up season 2, just get season 1 and watch it. If you have seen NCIS, WHAT THE HELL WHY DIDNT YOU TELL ME??! Wait, I'm actually glad no one told me but OH JESUS CHRIST!

Now I'm going to crash.

PS. Josie is an awesome dog and I'm so glad she's a part of my life.

9:21 pm - So I got appendicitis at the end of March.
It was in the middle of the night and I was in immense amount of pain. Surgery was quick, my recovery was good, I did not need to stay the night. So yeah, typical thing that most people will go through but without any complications.

NOW, if you want to see why our health system is so fucked up and why people tend to go bankrupt when they don't have insurance: I got my bill this week.

Total room and bed for part of the day (not overnight): $1687.00
IV Therapy: $952.00
IV Solutions: $461.45
Sterile supply (for stitching me up): $1127.14
Lab work: $134.00
Micro Exam (to make sure they removed the right thing): $151.00
Total for CT scan: $4787.00
Level 5 Mor(phine?) (I assume during surgery) $18144.00 !! WHAT ?!
Total Anesthesia: $2145.12
Emergency Room: $2687.00
Total Drug (assume this is extra misc plus Rx) $780.00
Recovery Room: $1760.00

Total if I was uninsured: Over $34 THOUSAND!

For something that most people experience and is unpredictable, unpreventable, this is just crazy.

Luckily, I am insured and I will be paying only a fraction of this. But still, as M said, "hope you enjoyed that morphine" for $18k.

9:23 pm - It's been a long time.
I've been working on my art and now have a possible contact for a short comic story. Basically do this comic for a webpage, it gets published, if it makes money, then we share profit 50/50.

I did have another commission that was "paid" to do a portrait of a coworkers boyfriend in drag. "Paid" = take me out to lunch. But that's cool, they both dug how the picture turned out. (warning: NWS man-nipple)

I just watched Monster Camp and realized that there was someone we recognized. Wait... is that?... no... YES... dave_over. That was pretty cool seeing him in that documentary.

Other than working and drawing, I've been playing WoW. Got refer a friend with triple xp and got 18 level 60s in 3 months. That was back in December. It was just pointed out to me that you can actually make a tenth character for each account (when I thought the max was 9). Least now I have a slot for Cataclysm.

8:06 pm - My new favorite youtube show
I haven't been into the whole youtube subscribe shows but this one caught my eye and I've been watching it religiously every week.

It's a very short comedy commentary on viral videos that used to be more politically focused but I think it's actually better now. Episodes are usually 2-4 minutes long.

9:50 pm - Amazon movies on demand from your player.
Few months ago we got a blu-ray player what said you could get movies on demand. Well, much to our disappointment, we found that they hadn't set it up yet. Well, today is the day.

Amazon just recently changed their on demand movies/tv shows to "devices" as well as tv. We turned on our player and sure enough. We spent the evening browsing the free stuff.

I think we'll probably order some episodes of Bones, House, Doll House, and Fringe. I really wish they had Twin Peaks and True Blood. :(

Sucks I have to work tomorrow.

7:02 pm - It's hot as hell.
I purchased plywood, a drill, and bits so I could make a hookup for my A/C unit for the sliding glass door. Even with the A/C, the house inside is still 90 degrees.

5:55 am - Something Awful Goons cause Sarah Palin to resign? Seriously!
Somethingawful.com front page tells it all!

The same goons who baught Joe Biden a pizza have topped themselvse by getting Palin to use them as a scapegoat for why she resigned. No seriously!

After Palin complained about the blogger who Photoshopped her baby, the goons went crazy with a Photoshop thead of their own, got on the Huffington Post, and then into Palin's speech.

"I think much of it had to do with the kids seeing their baby brother Trig mocked by some pretty mean-spirited adults recently."

Of course she missed the point that they were making fun of her, not her kid.

The full SomethingAwful.com apology.
Something Awful Palin Photoshop thread.

I'm so proud to be a goon!

EDIT: Time.com gives SA a nod in Preposterous Week!, scroll down to Palin.

9:08 pm - WTH my cat is an "Can Has" lolcat.

Thanks for pointing that out blackspiral. I didn't get it at first when you text'd me. I thought it was like "oh your cat is funny." Then I looked up the website and was all "whow."
Here's where it's from:

Should I say something to the website about the picture being mine? I'm just concerned that if I don't defend my picture now that I know it's being used that I might lose my rights over the picture. I don't really mind them using it. I just don't want to lose ownership over it.

8:38 pm - We're probably getting a puppy.
We've been talking about this for years, planning for a few months, and because of a twist of fate, we are probably getting a puppy soon. We already told them yes to the owner of the father dog but need to hear back from the owner of the mother dog.

This is her:

Hey, Chad! Puppy is south of Portland, any chance we could stop by for a pit stop on our drive? If all works out, we would like to make it down there this weekend or on New Years Day. Whatta say?

Also, the wireless on M's laptop died. Actually the whole e-net. HP is sending a return label. Here's hoping they send us an upgraded laptop or credit for a new one.

7:23 pm - The cat just killed my computer.
I kid you not. They both know how to turn the surge protector off and have done it so many times that we had cardboard over the switch. They figured out how to move it. Looks like this was the last straw. Bono switched it off right in the middle of a boss fight in Wizard 101. Power wouldn't come back on. Checked protector, it works, checked switch in the back, checked the cable, checked the voltage switch, changed the plug. Nothing. Justin thinks the motherboard might be fried. oh lord.

8:52 pm - I got a new hat.

It's called a flathat. It's 100% Irish wool! It was a little pricey but wraethwolf didn't mind. I am seriously thinking of getting a dark gray, rabbit fur Akubra. The one I tried on was $172.50! XO But the salesmen said it would take all sorts of abuse and probably last about a decade. I just have to be totally sure that I'll wear it and that it won't just be another short attention span obsession of mine. I'm kinda thinking it's not though... hmmm... maybe for Christmas?

8:38 pm - G&E's wedding was awesome!
Had a blast at the wedding. G&E couldn't stop making out with each other during the entire time. I dressed in a pin stripped suit with a black fedora. Played chess with my best friend while the night was winding down and some old relative could contain himself and started telling us what moves to make. The guy could have been playing himself, but it was all fun. Saw lots of good friends that I haven't seen in a long time. Makes me realize I need to be better at keeping in touch.

Too tired to post pictures today, I'll get them up as soon as I can.

On a side note, I think I'm going to become a hat collector. My next two hats are going to be a flat hat and an Akubra.

8:13 am - San Diego Comic Con friday morning.
kay, so 6am was not early enough.

Main parking lot is full, surrounding parking lots are already full and I almost didn't make it into the baseball parking garage. It actually said "FULL" as I was just a couple cars from paying but they let me in because of the disabled parking. Lucky... very lucky.

Still had to walk about... 6 blocks for the length of the convention center i think. Well, at least they have free wi-fi.

We'll see if I last the day, yesterday was the "light" day but had nothing light about it. And considering today is going to be busier but not the busiest (reserved for Saturday), I can't even comprehend how it's going to be.

Doors open in 65 minutes... coffee shop opens in 35 minutes.
